Evacuation Exercise Overview

The Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 requires the occupier of a building to conduct an evacuation exercise of the building or workplace annually to test the effectiveness of the emergency procedures as detailed in the Fire and Evacuation Plan.

The purpose of the evacuation practice is to identify any deficiencies of the current emergency procedures, and to ensure building occupants are aware and become familiar with the emergency procedures.
