Evacuation Coordinator Training – Course Overview
The Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 requires the occupier of a building to provide evacuation coordination instructions to the Evacuation Coordinator (this person is responsible for the coordination of the building’s evacuation in the event of a fire or other emergency) of the building, within 1 month of being appointed and then at intervals of not more than 1 year.
Evacuation Coordination training for your building will include:
- Means of alerting and communicating with persons in the building.
- Alerting the fire service, by phone or manually operated call points.
- Arranging the evacuation of persons with special needs, members of the public and other persons in the building.
- Checking whether all persons have been evacuated.
- Method of alerting the evacuation coordinator as to the result of the evacuation (if applicable).
- Meeting the Fire Service on arrival.
This course has been developed to comply with the requirements of Australian Standard 3745 – 2010 (planning for emergencies in facilities) and the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008.
