If you are an owner, or a business or person occupying a building in Queensland you have a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in that building in the event of a fire or other emergency. This checklist is designed to assist occupiers in managing their compliance with the Fire and Rescue Act 1990 and the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (BFSR).

Complete the checklist by placing a tick or a cross in each box adjacent to each item that applies to your building. Each tick represents an installation or requirement under the BFSR that needs to be addressed to ensure compliance. Please note that successful completion of this document does not indicate compliance with all requirements of the Fire and Rescue Act 1990 and the BFSR.
